Manuscript Consults
I work with individual short stories, novels, and short story collections at all stages using a question-based approach.
Cost: Starts at $400 (up to 8,000 words). Rates are per word about that count. Please inquire for rates for larger projects.
Coaching
I can help you build a writing practice, work through rough spots in your work, or see you through a larger project. My coaching services include guidance for:
project organization and strategizing
focusing techniques
generating new work
returning to existing projects
a “pick my brain” session on things such as finding an agent, the process of assembling a collection, or whether to apply for an MFA
Does not include manuscript reads but can be added on.
Cost: $185/session
3-session package: $500
6-session package: $1000
Sliding scale is always available for underrepresented writers; please ask!
MFA Application Prep
Applying for an MFA program this year? I offer multiple MFA application prep packages. Please note the deadlines for sign up.
Mini Prep (better if you just want single reads)
Cost: $1000
-Read of manuscript sample
-Read of statements
-2 coaching calls to discuss notes on samples and answer any other questions you have
Deadline to sign up: November 1st (for December deadlines)
The All In (better if you want guidance managing the process and multiple reads)
Cost: $1500
-Read and re-read of manuscript sample
-Brainstorming, read, and re-read of statements
-3-4 coaching calls to discuss sample selection, selecting programs, references, overall process, as needed
Deadline to sign up: September 15th (for December deadlines)
